woven welcome

As hands began to weave stories began to unfold

Abril had been away for the past 5 months touring in Ecuador.  Her mother waited with excitement for her return to Portland.  Too excited to sit and weave she stood at the gate as her anticipation became contagious as we all awaited Abril's arrival

Sometimes getting involved in a project is a good distractor as it was for the Madison WI couple arriving in Portland to visit their daughter. As they waited for their daughter to pick them up they engaged in the project rather than "spending the next 20 minutes in a meaningless arguement at the end of a travel day"

without hesitation weaving began

connections were made

and collaboration rather than argument evolved....







Security staff were quick to inquire about the project but rather than deter the project they helped develop the project as they collaborated on the weaving, engaged in conversation and welcomed the project at the airport.
